What A Tease!
So I get up and turn the news on this morning and they report that it’s going to get up to 55 degrees today….with rain
That is such a tease! I’m ready for 70 degrees and sunny! At the very least the rain will melt the snow and I’m all for that!
Last weekend was really nice. My mom came over for a visit and dinner on Friday, we stayed in and hung out Saturday and on Sunday we went to Lloyd’s parents house to celebrate his moms birthday. Lloyd’s grandpa had made a little table for Lloyd and his brother when they were kids and Lauryn had fun sitting at it playing with the dishes
We had a great dinner, some yummy homemade pie, visited for a bit and then came home.
Shortly after we got home, Kathye stopped by. She came in and asked me where my husband was. I told her he was on the back porch and asked why and she said she came to flash him! I said, “Okay….” So she went out there and told him she was here to flash him, lifted her shirt and flashed him the Michigan shirt she had on underneath
The women in my life can be crazy sometimes but I love them
Lloyd is a Michigan State fan, by the way, which is why she came to flash her Michigan shirt
Yesterday, Lauryn and took a walk down to the store to get a few things. I decided to take the nature trail back home and it was so nice to be out in the fresh air! We were only gone about an hour but it felt good! I had hoped that the fresh air would get Lauryn tired so she’d take a good nap – since her molars are coming she hasn’t been sleeping well – but I think it had the opposite effect. She was super hyper when we got home. Then around 8:45ish pm, she was in her highchair drinking her milk and she said, “Night night.” I asked her if she had said, “Night night” and she said, “Bees!” which means please. That was the first time she’s ever asked to go to bed and she fell asleep without making a peep! Usually she fights going to bed…I think she’s afraid she’s going to miss something
Lets get some more nice weather so we can get out and enjoy it and have more nights like last night!
The Weekend Is Over….Booooo!!!
This has been such a nice weekend! Friday, my mom and Lloyd’s parents came over and had dinner and dessert with us. I made crock pot lasagna, garlic toast and a yummy banana pudding dessert (I’ll post the recipe and a picture later). It was nice visiting with everyone. Then yesterday and today was just for us! Lloyd’s been working so much lately and has been going in on Saturdays for appointments or to get his office together so it was so nice to have him home for the whole weekend! I’m sad that it’s over
It took forever but I finally figured out how to cross stitch into crochet. Once I got it down, I couldn’t believe how long it took me to figure it out…it’s actually really easy! I’m so close to being done with that baby blanket. Now I want to start adding cross stitch patterns to some of my other crocheted projects
I really hope my friend likes it
I can’t wait for her to have her baby! It’s kind of a bummer that they don’t throw you a baby shower for the second child. I understand why but I think it’s kind of fun going to the store, running around with the barcode scanner and picking out things you want for your baby
I guess I’ll just have to ask her if there is anything in particular she is needing. I can’t wait to find out whether she’s having a boy or a girl!
Can’t Wait To Start The Weekend
Tonight, my mom and Lloyd’s parents are coming over. I have lasagna in the crock pot and it’s smelling soooo very good! I checked the mail today and Lloyd’s Valentine’s gift finally came! YAY!! I really hope he likes it! I can’t wait for Sunday to come! Tomorrow night we’re planning on going out for a few drinks and going bowling. The bowling alley is having a special where couples pay $25 for three games, they are doing some fun activities during the games and every woman gets a rose. It should be fun!
I’ve kind of fell off track with my weight loss plan. I was doing pretty well and just a few days of not eating so great and not working out have totally thrown me off course. I need to get back into the right mindset to get back on track. I’m still looking into a safe fat burner but I’m still not sure whether that’s right for me or not. For now I need to get back on that elliptical and get back to eating healthier!
Thankful For Naps!
This morning Lauryn woke up very early…much earlier than her Mama was ready for
When she took her nap, I took one too! It was just what I needed!
We don’t have any big plans this weekend. Just laundry and hanging out. Lloyd might spend some time working in the basement though. He’s been dealing with some wires, getting nails out of the studs – the previous owner was all about overkill with nails everywhere – and he mentioned changing the air filter in the furnace. I think we’re both just chilling this weekend because we’ll both be busy next weekend.
Dinner and dessert turned out great last night. I’ll post the recipes for them later. Those cake balls are very yummy and very addictive!
Long, Nice Weekend
This weekend seemed long but it was so nice. And I think I’m finally getting into the holiday spirit! Mostly I can’t wait for Christmas morning with Lauryn. Last year she was only a month and a half old so she was all about sleeping through it all
This year I can’t wait to sit with her and open the presents from Santa…and of course, the special ones from Mama and Dada
Friday, in the early afternoon, we had to take Lauryn to the doctor for her one year check-up and shots. The check-up went very well. Lauryn is growing good and is very healthy. The shots didn’t go so well at all. My poor girl had to get five of them this time and she definitely gave those nurses a run for their money. She sure has some strong legs! By the time we were leaving the room she was fine but while I was getting her clothes and shoes back on, she was crying so hard. It just breaks my heart and her daddy wants to knock the nurses out
He knows they are doing their job but he hates to see anyone make her cry. A little while after we got home, mom came over and since she didn’t end up having to work on Saturday after all, she stayed for dinner. Kathye came over for a while and it was nice visiting. Poor Lauryn wasn’t quite herself though
On Saturday, we celebrated Christmas with Lloyd’s parents. Since we have the big family party on Christmas day, we decided to do ours a little earlier so we’d have more time to hang out. We all got some really nice things and I think his parents liked their gifts a lot too. I think my most favorite gift is the camera Lloyd got me
I’m a spoiled girl! I’ve been wanting one for a long time and when I need one, I have to remind him to bring his home from work. So now I don’t have to wait for that, I can take pics and videos whenever
I’ve already taken a bunch and I have a couple videos of Lauryn walking. I still have to get them downloaded but I’ll get them posted soon
Today wasn’t so busy but we all just felt really tired. Lauryn is still not feeling well from the shots and she’s been getting up a lot during the night so we all were a little lazy today. Only a few more days til I get to see my punkin’ opening her presents! I can’t wait!
She Melts Me
Tonight, about an hour after Lauryn went to sleep, she woke up crying. Normally when I go in to calm her, she likes to be up with her head resting on my shoulder. She doesn’t do the “baby” thing where she rests in my arms. When I went in her room to rock her back to sleep, I had her up with her head on my shoulder and she wiggled herself down into my arms. I LOVE THAT! I MISS THAT! She rarely likes to be held like that anymore so I completely melt when she wiggles down into my arms and I get to hold her that way
We had such a nice day yesterday. We didn’t do anything special, we just hung out. It was perfect! I made blueberry pancakes for breakfast, Lloyd did some work in the basement, we had cheesy ham and potato soup for dinner, then we played with Lauryn until it was her bath and bed time. There’s nothing better than a day spent with my two favorite people…even when we don’t do a thing
Happy Day
This is going to be a great weekend! Lloyd actually took the day off! He kept telling me he wanted to but he rarely takes days off so I figured last night he’d come home and tell me he’d have to work. Nope, he came home and said he was planning on being here all day. It will be so nice to have a four day weekend with him! Woo Hoo! I can’t wait to go downtown tomorrow to check out the fair and the car show and then the fireworks on Sunday and the parade on Monday. I’ll have to bring the camera along and make sure to get plenty of pics of Lauryn
Have a safe and happy holiday weekend everyone!
Looking Forward To Tomorrow
This turned out to be a pretty nice weekend. Mom came over on Friday and we went shopping. She found some things for her and I found a few really cute outfits for Lauryn. When we got back to my house, we were surprised to see Lloyd was already home. I love it when he gets home earlier than anticipated
We had a pretty good dinner – meatloaf, loaded baked potatoes and green beans and then we just hung out for a little while.
Yesterday Lloyd, Lauryn and I did some grocery shopping. I love stocking up the cupboards and the freezer! Then I know I can have good meals waiting for Lloyd when he comes home from a long day at work
He did some work in the basement for a couple of hours while I cleaned up the house. We had tacos and guacamole for dinner and I actually had a couple of drinks! I made them with Malibu Coconut Rum, pineapple juice and Hawaiian punch. They tasted tropical and yummy!
Today we did end up going to the reunion. The weather wasn’t quite as bad as they had predicted. When the sun was covered and the wind was blowing though, it got pretty chilly. It was nice seeing everyone and eating some good food. I made my ham dip wrap bites to take with us. I’ll post the recipe for that later.
Lauryn has her nine month check up tomorrow. I usually don’t look forward to her appointments because of her getting shots but she doesn’t have to get them. It’s just a regular check up. I’m excited to see just how much she’s grown! I try to weigh her on the scale with me to figure out her weight but I don’t think it’s all that accurate. Plus, her doctor is pregnant and should be getting close to her due date so I’m excited to see how things are going for her.
I hear Lauryn talking to her daddy right now
It’s about her bath time, then it’s story time, then bed time and Lloyd and I can have a few minutes to ourselves.
Rainy Friday
Looks like today and the rest of the weekend are going to be chilly and rainy! For the most part, I don’t mind but we are supposed to have another family reunion on Sunday and it’s set up at the park. I like the reunions but I wouldn’t mind if this one got rescheduled because of the weather.
Mom and I are going to do a little shopping today after she gets out of work. I hope I can find the things I’m looking for in a hurry because when I woke up this morning, my pinky toe was very swollen and a lot more purple. I went out to move the truck so Lloyd could take the car this morning and I could get my regular shoes on! Luckily, I still have the clogs I wore at the end of my pregnancy and they are just big enough that they don’t push/rub on my toe.
I’m thinking about making a meatloaf tonight for dinner. It’s been a while since I’ve made one and it sounds pretty yummy. I think we’ll have mashed potatoes with it. Not sure about the veggie yet though.
The past few nights have been so nice because Lauryn’s teeth haven’t been bothering her so she’s been sleeping all night…which means mama sleeps all night too! Gotta love that!
Happy Friday Everyone!!!
Headaches!
I went to bed with a headache last night and woke up with one this morning. NOT COOL! I hope to get rid of it soon because there’s nothing worse than spending a beautiful day being completely miserable because your head is killing you.
Mom is coming over for dinner tonight. I’m not sure what I’m making yet though. I did buy more corn on the cob though so I’ll probably throw that on the grill. I just need to figure out what to make with it. It will probably just be me and mom for dinner tonight. Lloyd has a few things he has to do at the other house, so he won’t be home until late. Speaking of the other house, great news…..we finally got it rented!!! WOOHOO!!!! It’s such a relief to have that payment off our shoulders! We are actually landlords, which to me is a little scary but I think we’ll be pretty good ones and not slumlords
Happy Friday Everyone!!!
