I can’t wait for fall!  Summer is nice but I hate humidity.  I prefer spring and fall weather.  I’m not a big fan of winter either.  Mostly because driving in the winter makes me nervous.  It will be fun to play with Lauryn in the snow though.  She was a little too small/young to take out to play last year but this year, I think she’ll have fun in the snow.  Her grandma got her a cute snowsuit that has everything but the snow boots.  She’s going to be adorable in it and I’m sure she’ll want to be out all the time, even helping her Dada shovel.  Maybe winter won’t be so bad after all

So, I’m all for April showers but we’re into May now and this cold and rainy stuff has got to go!  All of the stuff I bought for my garden still hasn’t been planted   Either it’s been rainy or there’s a chance of frost.  Luckily, I’ve managed to keep everything alive and thriving on my back porch and when it’s sunny enough, I put it all outside.

My mom, Lauryn and I went shopping today.  I didn’t end up finding the main things I went for but I did get a few other things I’ve been needing/wanting.  I also looked a little at acne treatments.  I don’t know if the couple of pimples I’ve been getting are something that needs major treatment or just a better cleanser but I’m really getting tired of them!

So yesterday, we got Lauryn her new potty.  It’s pretty cute!  It does have a few bells and whistles but the main reason I chose the one we got was because you can take the seat off and attach it to the regular toilet to help make the transition a little easier.  What cracks me up about it is not only does it have a place for her own roll of toilet paper but it will sing to her when she does go potty in it!  Too funny!  This morning, she was still dry when we got her up so I thought it might be a good time to try to get her to sit on it…not such a good idea.  She didn’t want anything to do with that at all!  Later, I took her in the bathroom with me and just let her really check it out and she did sit on it for a minute, with all her clothes on, and I realized that’s probably how we’re going to have to do it for a while.  Just let her get used to it and take it from there.

The weather lately has been such a tease! I’ve given up on trying to find quick weight loss diets but I have been trying to get out on more walks with Lauryn lately. This weather is really messing that up! One day it will be 80 degrees out and just beautiful and days like yesterday and today are cold, windy and in the 50’s! Come on Michigan, get it together!

Today Lauryn and I met up with some friends for lunch and a little shopping.  We had a really nice time!  I must say, those are three of my favorite people to hang out with   Poor Lauryn got a little sick after her Hi-C went down the wrong way and just a few minutes later she was saying, “All done, all done” which usually means she’s had enough and is ready to go.  I need to make the effort to do more get togethers but usually there’s not much gas in the truck or I don’t have much money so that stops us from going

Lloyd and I were talking earlier about the relocation deals he’s done.  He was telling me about the long distance movers he’s worked with and how well they pack and take care of people’s things.  Even though we didn’t move all that far away, since I had just had a baby, I could have used them   Sure would have made the move easier! LOL

No major plans for this weekend.  Lloyd is probably going to be working on the rental all weekend so I’m not sure what Lauryn and I will do.  Maybe see if Kathye’s going to be home and up for a visit   We haven’t been out there in a while.  I really wish the weather would warm back up again so we could spend more time outside.  They keep saying it’s coming back next week though

This week is going to be so nice!  The weather is supposed to get warmer and sunnier with each day!  Lauryn and I will definitely be spending a lot of time outside and it will be so nice to have all the windows open inside to get that fresh air flowing through the house.

I’m really looking forward to Easter.  Lauryn has the cutest little yellow dress to wear.  We’re going to do a mini Easter egg hunt at home before we go to her grandma and grandpa’s and have the big one with all of her cousins.  I’m thinking of getting her a potty for Easter.  I don’t think she’s ready to be potty trained quite yet but I think getting her used to it and letting her see that it’s all hers is a good start.  Most people give their kids candy for Easter, I’m giving mine a potty   I figure, she doesn’t eat candy right now anyway and I’m sure she’ll get plenty of sweets from her Grandma so we’ll give her something useful.  The Easter baskets can happen next year

I love sunny days!  I am so glad to hear that we should be expected a few of them this week

I have decided that while I still want to lose weight and get into better shape, I am not going to stress so much about it.  Now that the weather is finally getting warmer, I plan on walking as much as I can.  I used to walk all over this town when I was a kid and now I just hop in the truck and go.  There are so many parks within walking distance and I think it would be fun to get out and take Lauryn and Cloz’r to them.  So no more trying to find the best weight loss pills that work, I’m going to concentrate on getting out, playing with my daughter and eating healthier.  I think that’s a pretty good plan

So I get up and turn the news on this morning and they report that it’s going to get up to 55 degrees today….with rain   That is such a tease!  I’m ready for 70 degrees and sunny!  At the very least the rain will melt the snow and I’m all for that!

Last weekend was really nice.  My mom came over for a visit and dinner on Friday, we stayed in and hung out Saturday and on Sunday we went to Lloyd’s parents house to celebrate his moms birthday.  Lloyd’s grandpa had made a little table for Lloyd and his brother when they were kids and Lauryn had fun sitting at it playing with the dishes   We had a great dinner, some yummy homemade pie, visited for a bit and then came home.

Shortly after we got home, Kathye stopped by.  She came in and asked me where my husband was.  I told her he was on the back porch and asked why and she said she came to flash him!  I said, “Okay….”  So she went out there and told him she was here to flash him, lifted her shirt and flashed him the Michigan shirt she had on underneath

The women in my life can be crazy sometimes but I love them   Lloyd is a Michigan State fan, by the way, which is why she came to flash her Michigan shirt

Yesterday, Lauryn and took a walk down to the store to get a few things.  I decided to take the nature trail back home and it was so nice to be out in the fresh air!  We were only gone about an hour but it felt good!  I had hoped that the fresh air would get Lauryn tired so she’d take a good nap – since her molars are coming she hasn’t been sleeping well – but I think it had the opposite effect.  She was super hyper when we got home.  Then around 8:45ish pm, she was in her highchair drinking her milk and she said, “Night night.”  I asked her if she had said, “Night night” and she said, “Bees!” which means please.  That was the first time she’s ever asked to go to bed and she fell asleep without making a peep!  Usually she fights going to bed…I think she’s afraid she’s going to miss something   Lets get some more nice weather so we can get out and enjoy it and have more nights like last night!

I can’t believe in one more month, we’ll be celebrating my baby girls first birthday!  It just doesn’t seem possible.  I’ve been get the party all planned and I’m trying to keep it as small as possible because we just don’t have a lot of room for a big party.  I think my list is pretty much finalized and including the three of us, there will possibly be 21 people here.  One more month….Holy Cow!

Today is looking awfully dreary.  It’s cold and very rainy right….good nap weather My house is smelling very yummy this morning.  I’ve had a roast in the crock pot, which was seared first, for over an hour now.  Mom has to work tomorrow so it will just be me and Lloyd for dinner.  She’s going to visit tomorrow though and hopefully my aunt will be coming over on Sunday.  I miss her a lot!

I’m getting really far on the blanket I’m making for Lauryn.  I haven’t decided just how big to make it but I guess when I run out of yarn, it’s done   It’s getting pretty big.  As soon as I’m done, I’ll post pictures.  This is by far my favorite blanket – great colors and great pattern!

Now my cold has gone from sore throat, to sinus yuckiness and now it’s become a nagging cough – which is a lot better than that sinus crap!  Hopefully I will be rid of it all in a day or two!  So far, we’ve managed to keep Lloyd and Lauryn from getting it *knock on wood!*

On Saturday, one of Lauryn’s top front teeth finally broke through! YAY!!!  And you can see the other one just under the surface.  For the past few days I’ve had my sweet little girl back!  Seems like once they break through, they don’t bother her quite as much so she’s not so fussy.  I can’t wait to see her with her two top teeth to go along with her two bottom ones.  That’s going to be adorable!

I can’t believe it’s only going to be in the 50’s today!  Last year, when we were bringing Lauryn home from the hospital (beginning of November) we had 70 degree weather.  I’m thinking it’s not going to happen this year.  I can’t believe that my garden is still going!  Sunday I picked about 15-20 tomatoes and saw that I have six green peppers that will be ready soon.  Hopefully they make it!

I’m thinking about making meatloaf and linguine oil and garlic tonight.  I’m not sure about the veggie yet.  I still have to run to the store.

As I’ve already mentioned in some of my comment responses, Lloyd passed the loan officer test…YAY!  I knew he could do it!  And we got our first rent check yesterday…again YAY!

Laundry, laundry, laundry….why do you plague me so?  I have a load in the washer, a load in the dryer and two more to go!  It’s never-ending!  The rest of the house looks great though so that’s nice.

I am loving this weather today.  Bright, sunny and pleasantly warm…not hot and humid.  I’m thinking we need to take a family walk tonight to the ball fields just down the road.  They have a little playground there and I think Lauryn would have fun.  I need Lloyd to come with me because I also want to take Cloz’r and I have yet to master taking her on the leash and pushing the stroller at the same time.  Cloz’r and I both need to work on that   I usually end up running her over at some point because she tries to go in front of the stroller.

BBQ chicken breasts on the grill tonight and linguine oil and garlic….I am so in love with that pasta! LOL
