Chilly!
I am loving these colder mornings! I love going to bed at night with the windows open, breathing the fresh air, then waking up and opening everything up to get that cool air flowing. I know we still have some warm days ahead but this has been really nice! It gets me thinking about this fall/winter. Last year, we talked about looking into those electric grills and fireplaces to see if we could save some money on heating this place. I’m not sure how well they would work though because of the layout of the house. I think I’ll ask around and see what people think of them.
Today my Aunt Dereka is coming for a visit. I love seeing her and I’m pretty sure Lauryn has been wanting to see her too because she’s been running around saying, “Der-KA, Der-Ka!!!” She even colored a picture for her last night
Lloyd took Cloz’r to the vet this morning for her shots and a check-up. I’m waiting for them to get back so I can hear how it went. I’m hoping every thing looks good and that she’s as healthy as we think she is! This is the first time at a new vet’s office so I’m hoping everything goes well.
Bored!
I’ve had to stay at home a lot this week because my truck is being worked on. I’ve done a lot of cleaning in the house, weeded the garden and the flowers, started helping plan a baby shower, crocheted….I need to get out of this house!
During all the cleaning, I have noticed a few things I’d like to get. I need a better mop, new window blinds and a new vacuum filter are some of the things on my list so far.
Mom came over for lunch today and we had a really nice visit. It’s been nice having her visit more since she’s on shutdown at work. Even just being able to call her earlier in the day has been nice. It’s going to feel weird when she goes back next week.
It’s Monday Already?
These weekends just don’t seem nearly long enough! It was another great one though. Saturday, we went to a beautiful outdoor wedding. What started out to be a stormy day, ended with a beautiful ceremony, a gorgeous bride and a groom that was grinning from ear to ear all day. We had a lot of fun at the reception and my feet are still a little sore from all the dancing!
Yesterday we had a nice visit with Lloyd’s parents. Lauryn had a great time with her grandma and grandpa. Then we just relaxed the rest of the day.
I’m thinking about making some banana bread this morning. I have some bananas that need to be used up and it’s been ages since I’ve made banana bread. It’s sounding really good right now
I have tons of laundry to catch up on today. No fun! I really should have done it yesterday. I guess since it’s looking a little dark outside right now though, I might as well stay in and catch up.
Rain, Rain Go Away
I don’t mind the rain but since I have to take Lauryn out with me to run errands, I wish it would stop.
I had such a nice visit with my aunt and my cousins yesterday. Poor Lauryn was pretty fussy from teething so she didn’t enjoy the visit as much at first. She played with my aunt on the floor though and it got better.
I decided to make spaghetti and meatballs tonight. I was going to grill but if the weather stays like this, I don’t really want to get soaked trying to make dinner. The garage is full of drywall from the basement so we can’t really pull the grill in there either. It’s been a while since I’ve made my homemade meatballs anyway and they sound really good!
We did find someone to come work on our pipes. He should be here any time now. We’ve worked with him before and he’s really nice. I’m still praying that it’s not any worse than it already is!
