Cleaning House
I’ve been wanting to go through Lauryn’s massive amount of toys and pack up the things she doesn’t play with. I’ve tried a few times and found myself saying, “She played with this a week ago, so that can’t go” and “she’s not interested in this right now but she might be soon.” I was looking around the house today and realized it has been completely taken over by a bunch of useless toys! Even her play yard has become one great big toy chest! So I finally went through everything and kept only the things she plays with often, that’s still quite a few things, and put the rest in rubbermaid bins in the basement. The house already looks a “little” less cluttered.
I also decided to clean all of my jewelry today. Not just the things I wear, but everything! I do love looking down and my wedding rings and seeing the diamonds sparkle. I only wear my wedding rings on my left hand and another ring from Lloyd on my right but I’ve been thinking about getting a couple more to wear. What’s in my jewelry box isn’t every day wear so I think I’m going to keep my eyes out for at least another ring for my right hand and maybe a thumb ring for my left.
Bored!
I’ve had to stay at home a lot this week because my truck is being worked on. I’ve done a lot of cleaning in the house, weeded the garden and the flowers, started helping plan a baby shower, crocheted….I need to get out of this house!
During all the cleaning, I have noticed a few things I’d like to get. I need a better mop, new window blinds and a new vacuum filter are some of the things on my list so far.
Mom came over for lunch today and we had a really nice visit. It’s been nice having her visit more since she’s on shutdown at work. Even just being able to call her earlier in the day has been nice. It’s going to feel weird when she goes back next week.
Crabby Pants!
I don’t know what is up with Lauryn today but she has been a little crabby pants all day! I’m thankful that it’s the end of the night and she is in bed
Mama was about to pull her own hair out!
Got a few things done around the house today. All of the laundry is caught up, I swept, dusted and vacuumed, put a million toys away and made braided pizza and salad for dinner. Afterward, I did the dishes and went outside to water the garden and the flowers. It’s so nice to see everything still doing well and growing!
Lloyd and I were talking about insurance again the other day. He decided to add disability insurance to our policy, just in case. It’s one of those things that you wonder “why am I paying for this?” but should anything happen, you’ll be glad you had it!
Tomorrow I plan on doing a little birthday shopping. My mom’s birthday is Saturday and she’ll be coming over for dinner Friday night. I hope to find the things on my list
Busy, Busy
Today I have a lot to do around the house. So far on my list is: wash bedding, clean bathroom, dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, make deviled eggs, sweep patio, make strawberry dessert and figure out what to make as a side dish to go with our burgers tonight. Since I went ahead and got groceries last night, that’s one less thing I have to do today
So I fell off the “diet wagon” recently and now that the weather is getting nicer, I’m trying to get back on! I’m cutting down on portions, drinking less coffee (because I use tons of creamer), drinking more water and green tea, going on more walks and getting into the yard work. My goal is to lose 20 lbs. but I’m not giving myself a deadline. I hate the dreaded deadline so I’m just going to go with the flow and stay on track. I want to cut back on red meat, eat more salads – I love them so why not? – and get healthier for me and my little girl! No thinking about “dieting” and things like clinicallix, it’s just me, getting in better shape so I can be happier with how I look
Lots to Do
I have a lot to do today. I’ve got the last load of clothes in the dryer right now and have two big blankets that need to be washed yet. Tomorrow is garbage day so I have to clean out the fridge, litter and get the rest of the trash ready to go out, the kitchen and bathroom floors need to be swept and mopped, the house needs dusting and the rest of the floors need to be vacuumed. Sounds like fun, eh? I want to get as much done as I can before Lauryn’s appointment, which we should leave around 2 pm for. I have no clue what to make for dinner yet but I think I’m going to stop at the store on the way home to pick up a few things to make a yummy banana pudding dessert I just came across. Maybe I’ll get an idea for dinner while I’m shopping
I’ve been thinking that netbooks sound really good! Our office is in the back of the house and it’s always freezing back here so a netbook or laptop would be great. Lloyd’s been thinking about getting a new laptop and if he does then I get his old one
Besides being so cold in the office, I can only get online when Lauryn is sleeping because the office and the stairs to the basement are in the same place and there isn’t a door to keep Lauryn away from the stairs. I don’t trust that a baby gate would be good enough to keep her from falling down them so we just keep the door to in the dining room closed so the office and basement are off limits to her.
Suppose I should get offline and get to my to do list
Catching Up
Today’s plans consist of laundry, cleaning out the fridge, changing the litter, dusting, vacuuming and bagging up the garbage….Can you say fun? Just another day of catching up on the cleaning…BOO!
I was thinking that I should probably change my passwords for everything today. I’ve been thinking about identity theft protection and I always hear that you should change your passwords frequently. I have not been so smart with my accounts. Most of them have the same password and it’s been that password for years! I’m lucky no one has messed with my accounts! I’m trying to think of something creative that of course, only I would know but also, that will be something I can remember!
Leftover spaghetti and meatballs for dinner tonight. I’ve been on a big leftover kick lately because I felt like we were wasting a lot of food. It’s partly my fault because I tend to cook for an army so I need to work on that but Lloyd and I both need to be more careful about not wasting food.
Good Luck Lloyd
At this very moment, my husband is taking a test to get his loan officer’s license. He was a little nervous but I know he’ll pass it with flying colors! You can do it Babe!
Happy 10 months to Lauryn! I can’t believe in two more months she will be a year old! It just doesn’t seem possible! Where did my sweet little baby who needed me for every little thing go? Now she’s little Miss Independent
I have to finish up my list of “chores” today. I got almost everything done but I still have one load of laundry to get to and I still need to mop the kitchen floor. I also want to get out to the garden and get any weeds out there….there is no way I’m spending another three hours on it like I did last week! I have a few tomatoes and a green pepper all ready to be picked too
I can’t wait for next years garden! It will be at least twice as big and I’m planning on doing a lot of fruit!
Lots of Cleaning
I haven’t had tons of motivation today but I do need to get some things done around the house and I made a list so I don’t forget anything. So far, I’ve dusted, cleaned the picture window and made the bed….looking at my list, I’ve barely made a dent! The bathroom needs a good once over, there are a few dishes and the floors definitely need to be done. I can’t wait until the cooler weather comes and Cloz’r stops shedding so much! We finally got another mop so I no longer have to wash the floors on my hands and knees…YAY!
We’re going to have leftover lasagna tonight with a salad and garlic toast. I put some of it in the freezer for my mom and that left about two servings so I figured we just use them up so they wouldn’t go to waste. It was really good anyway and I never mind eating Italian more than once
Back to the grind
She’s Talking Away
Lauryn was looking really sleepy so I put her down for a nap and she’s been talking up a storm in her room. I love when she’s does that!
So far today, I finally organized and put away the last of the things that were in boxes in the bathroom closet…thank you very much Lloyd for adding more shelves
The dusting and vacuuming has been done, the bed is made, toys are picked up and the few dishes from lunch and Lauryn’s bottles are done. Now I need to figure what to make for dinner. I also have two loads of laundry to get to but if it’s not done today it’s no big deal.
I need to start looking up more recipes. Feels like I haven’t tried anything new in a while. I got a new Bon Appetit magazine but I rarely find anything in there that we would like. We’re just not that fancy..LOL
Cari, Cari Quite Contrary
How does your garden grow? It’s doing pretty darn well! My tomato plants are full of tomatoes, mostly still green but I do have a red one! The green peppers have flowered and are starting to grow little tiny peppers, the onions seem to be doing well, the cucumber is totally a lost cause and the mystery plants are flowering. We think they might be squash.
Lots and lots of cleaning needs to be done today. Besides the usual Thursday cleaning (the fridge, the litter…), I’ve been cleaning Lauryn’s closet. Every where we go, someone is giving her something and it ends up just going in her closet. I’ve been sorting through the clothes that don’t fit her any more and organizing everything. I’ve already vacuumed today because shedding dog + crawling baby = hairy baby and I can’t let that happen! The laundry is actually caught up for once so I don’t need to worry about that but once the fridge gets cleaned out there will be plenty of dishes. Gotta love Thursdays!
