Weekend In Review

Weekend In Review
To share you weekend, please visit Jodi at:

Friday ~ Started the day out being a little bit lazy then got around to cleaning the house.  In the afternoon, my mom came over after work and we headed to Greenville for a bit.  When we got back, we had dinner and then we got to watch my sweet little niece, Emma, for a bit while my brother and sister-in-law went to an appointment.  She and Lauryn had a great time running around and playing.

Saturday ~ Lloyd made a yummy breakfast and then decided to start priming the walls in Lucas’s room.  Lauryn REALLY wanted to help her daddy but we figured that might be to messy of a job for her so she and I went shopping to get a few more things that Lucas will need before he gets here.  We looked at everything, trying to waste time.  From everything in the baby department to sporting goods and salt cells.  When we got home, our friends Jeff and Teresa were here.  We visited for a bit then decided to get some pizza and have they’re kids come over.  We decided to play euchre, which I’ve never understood, and had a great time.

Sunday ~ Lloyd and Lauryn got ready and went to visit Lloyd’s parents.  I stayed home and got a little more rest as I’m still not sleeping well.  When I got back up, I got some cleaning done.  When they got back, we had tacos and guacamole for dinner and then played some Wii games before bed.

Sunday Stealing

*Since I missed last weeks Sunday Stealing and it was a two-parter, I’m doing both parts now.  Happy Sunday!*

The Semi Charmed Meme, Part One

Welcome back to Sunday Stealing which originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent memes. You may have heard of the expression, “honor amongst thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we also have our rules. First, we always credit the blog that we stole it from and we will “fess up” to the blog owner where we stole the meme. We also provide a link to the victim’s post. (It’s our way of saying “Thanks!”) We do sometimes edit the original meme, usually to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, sometimes to select that meme’s best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from either this new meme or recently asked questions from a prior featured meme. Let’s go!!!
Today we ripped off a blogger named Silly Dreamer from the blog, My Semi Charmed Kind of Life. We will do it in two parts. Silly does not say where it is from. But, it was probably stolen there as well. So, of course, that will be as far as we go. Tracing back our theft’s thieves might take some time. Take the time to comment on other player’s posts. It’s a great way to make new friends! Link back to us at Sunday Stealing!Sunday Stealing: The Semi Charmed Meme, Part One

Saturday 9

That’s Why God Made The Radio

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we’ve committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do “random questions,” so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don’t have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today’s meme!

1. The Beach Boys are back together (everyone alive, Dennis and Carl have passed, including Brian) for the first time in 25 years. It’s their 50th Anniversary tour. Their new single is called, “That’s Why God made the Radio”. Did radio play a huge part of your growing up years?
 Yes.  Definitely!
2. What is something that you are disappointed about right now?
That I can’t sleep!  This little boy of ours is coming soon and I wish I could get some sleep now because I’m sure I won’t be able to once he’s here!
3. What are you really anticipating right now?
Getting the nursery painted and getting the room put together so it will be ready when our son arrives.
4. When was the last time you watched your favorite movie? What is it?
I hate this question.  I have so many favorites I can never pick just one.
5. If you could bring one person back from the dead, who would it be?
My Grandma Stewart.  She died when I was a baby and I would have loved to have had the chance to get to know her.
6. Who was the last person you hung up on?
 Hmmmm…..I honestly don’t know.
7. Does it bother you when meme makers separate questions that could’ve been combined?
 Nah.
8. What is the first animal you would run to see if you went to the zoo?
 Giraffe.
9. What is the food you always buy at the grocery store that you can’t live without?
Cheese :)

32 Weeks

As of Sunday I’m 32 weeks along.  I feel like I’ve been pregnant F-O-R-E-V-E-R!!!  Only 8 more weeks to go, if I go the full term, but I have a feeling this little boy is going to come early like his sister did.  As long as he’s healthy, I’m fine with that!  :)   I had my check-up today and everything is looking good.  My blood pressure was up again but after laying on my side a few minutes, it went back down.  I haven’t had any issues with swelling, headaches or seeing spots so I’m not too worried about it.  My baby boys heart beat was at 142, his head is down low and he’s getting ready to make his entrance.  I actually lost a couple of pounds since my last appointment which puts my weight gain at 7 pounds.  For anyone who’s seen my belly, it sure doesn’t seem like that all because it looks more like 20+ but that’s it.  Since I wasn’t a skinny girl to begin with, I think the baby is just taking what I already had!  :)

I also got my new glasses today.  I picked them out over a week and a half ago and while I was waiting, I was nervous that they weren’t going to look right.  Once I got home and took my contacts out, I put them on again and although they’re going to take some getting used to because they are very different from my last pair, I really like them.  I stopped over to show my mom and she LOVED them.

We’re having a simple dinner tonight because I’m tired and don’t feel like cooking or cleaning a big mess.  So it’s sandwiches and fries for dinner.  I still am not sleeping well so I’m going to try to go to bed early tonight and hopefully will be able to catch up on some sleep.

Saturday 9

‘Til I Hear It From You

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we’ve committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do “random questions,” so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don’t have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today’s meme!

1. If someone, that you trusted, told you that your lover was cheating, would you believe them or not?
 I don’t know.  I would want proof, I guess.
2. What is something that you are disappointed about right now?
I had high hopes of going to an event next week but unfortunately I’m not going.
3. Jonathan Frid, who was the original Barnabas Collins on Dark Shadows from 1967-1971, passed away in Canada at the age of 87. Who is your favorite vampire?
Don’t have one.  I don’t get into vampires.
4. Should there be age limits on social networking sites such as facebook?
Yes.  I think there are too many kids with facebook pages and too many predators out there.
5. Tell us about your pets. Do you have one that you wish would run away?
We have a nine year old dog, Cloz’r.  She’s a mix between a German Sheperd and a black lab.  We also have a 17 year old cat named Ahb Dab’s (short for Ahb Bu Dah Be).  She went through college with my husband, dislike almost everyone and loves straws.  We would be heartbroken if either of them ran away.
6. Do you ever have a hard time with morals?
Not really.  Sometimes I have a hard time taking the high road but I usually do because it’s not worth it to say what I’m really feeling at the moment.
7. Did you make ‘a plan’ the first time you made love or did it just happen?
 It just happened.
8. Do you agree that fame is lousy or would you love to give it a try? Why?
I wouldn’t want to be famous.  I feel like there’s enough people out there, judging me and my decisions.  I don’t want the whole world doing it too!
9. Do you believe in forever, as in ‘love forever’?
Yes.

Friday Fill-Ins

Weekend In Review
To share your weekend, please visit Jodi at:

Friday ~ Cleaned the house and did up the laundry, got ready for the day and put some chicken breasts in the crock pot and made a pasta salad for dinner.  The little girl next door came over and asked if Lauryn could come out and play so they played for a bit while I visited with her grandma.   Afterward, we had to run to the carwash to vacuum out the truck.  Then my mom came over and we headed to Greenville.  I had an eye appointment and picked out some new glasses.  I think they’re going to be cute and I can’t wait to get them.  We did a little shopping and came back to eat dinner.  Mom thought the chicken was good but Lloyd and I weren’t impressed.  Mom and I were talking about magazine articles and things like apidexin when Lucas started to kick up a storm.  She was so excited that she finally got to feel him!  He stopped moving when she first tried to feel him but then she wiggled her hand and he kicked back.  Her reaction was so cute!  :)

Saturday ~ I made breakfast, cleaned up the kitchen and then Lloyd kept Lauryn occupied so I could get a little more rest.  Later, we say on the deck and talked while Lauryn played in the yard and got very dirty.  :)   Pasta salad and sandwiches for dinner and Wii bowling in the evening.

Sunday ~ Lloyd and Lauryn made a yummy breakfast for us and I cleaned up afterward.  Then we all got busy cleaning out the third bedroom and getting everything down to the basement.  Then I went through another tub of Lauryn’s baby clothes, to give to a friend of my moms.  It didn’t take long and I was needing some rest again so Lloyd and Lauryn organized the craft room and I got a nap.  I so appreciate Lloyd being home on the weekends so I can catch up on some rest!  We had pizza for dinner and played some more Wii games.  The rest of the evening we relaxed :)

Ain’t Too Proud to Beg

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we’ve committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do “random questions,” so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don’t have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today’s meme!

Saturday 9: Ain’t Too Proud to Beg

1. What was the last thing that you begged for?
For my husband, who hadn’t been serious about picking a name for our baby, to just give in and decide the name I’d chosen was the best.
2. Have you ever lost a best friend after a fight?
 No.
3. When was the last time you just wanted to be invisible?
When a cashier commented on how big I was.  I’m pregnant and she assumed I was farther along that I was because my belly was so big.
4. Which room of your home tends to be the messiest?
Right now it’s the third bedroom.  There’s a ton of baby stuff, a bunch of Christmas stuff that needs to go down to the basement and I have half of the wallpaper border off the walls.
5. You are to be locked in a room forever with a celebrity. You get to choose. Who do you pick?
 Shemar Moore :)
6. Has someone ever left another person to be with you?
 Yes, my first serious boyfriend.
7. What’s been kind of a drag for you lately?
To be perfectly honest, it’s this pregnancy.  It’s done a number on my body and between the aches and pains and the lack of sleep, I just don’t feel like myself these days….Nine more weeks!!!
8. How are you different from your (current or most recent) significant other?
He’s much more responsible with money than I am.  I’m not a crazy spender but I’m not a saver either.
9. What is the most perverted thing someone has ever said to you?
That’s a tough one.  My husbands friends have said some things over the years, that while most of the time are really funny things, they are also highly inappropriate.

Busy Week

This week was pretty busy.  It started with my 30 week check-up on Monday.  On the drive there, the doctor’s office called me to tell me that the doctor had been called away to deliver a baby.  Since it was just a routine check-up, they said I could keep the appointment and just see the nurse if I wanted.  That was fine with me.  Lauryn came with us and she was really excited to hear the baby’s heartbeat again.  She’s heard it at home, with my doppler, but it’s different at the doctor’s office.  You don’t need the earbuds and it’s really loud there.  She thought that was cool.  His heartbeat was at 146 bpm. and he measured at 31 weeks.  Lloyd had to work late so Lauryn and I went to Taco Bell for dinner.  We ran into J.J. and Millie there :)   It was really nice to see them.  We need to plan a get together soon!  Later in the evening, I spent some time going through all of Lauryn’s baby clothes and getting things organized to give away.

Tuesday was the only day we stayed home and I played catch up all day.  The kitchen counters and bar had become catch alls and I wanted to get it back in order.  Then it was on to laundry, bathrooms and sweeping.  Our vacuum broke a couple of days before so that had to wait but the rest of the house was looking pretty good.

On Wednesday, Lauryn and I went to Greenville to get a new vacuum.  We picked up a few other things and then headed home.  On the way, we stopped in at the vet’s office to pick up some paperwork on Cloz’r's last shots.  Lloyd called and surprised me by telling me that we were getting new mattresses delivered that night.  I hadn’t slept well in quite some time and figured it was the pregnancy just as much as it was the well-worn mattress we’d been sleeping on.  I was excited to get new mattresses though, hoping it would help some.  Once Lauryn and I got back home, we vacuumed the whole house, she loves to help with that, and got the truck loaded up with boxes of clothes to take over for my sweet little niece, Emma.  We visited with my sister-in-law and niece for a little while but Lauryn ended up hitting her head pretty hard on the coffee table and she wanted to go home after that.  I kept an eye on her and she seemed to be doing fine but I was still a little worried because she hit her head so hard.  Lloyd got home, we ate dinner and shortly after that, our mattress and box spring were delivered.  They are great!  They are really tall and I have to climb up them to get into bed.  I noticed right away how much more comfortable I was able to get.

When I woke up Thursday morning, I couldn’t believe how good my body felt and how much rest I actually got.  Other than getting up to use the restroom a few times, I slept well!  Lauryn and I had breakfast and then got ready to take Cloz’r to the vet.  With Cloz’r's hips bothering her, I wasn’t sure she’d be able to get into the truck by herself and since I’m in no condition to lift her, I was nervous that we might not make the appointment.  Luckily, she jumped right in and we were ready to go.  Cloz’r got updated on all of her shots and her heartworm medicine and then we headed over to my friend Jen’s house to pick up a yummy beer bread mix she had for me.  We went home after that, ate and then headed to the store to pick up a few things for dinner.  Lauryn was pretty tired and took a nap as soon as we got back.  I got things ready for dinner and did a little laundry.

This morning we got an estimate on lawn care and I’m finishing up the last of the laundry…although it never really is finished!  Then Lauryn and I are going to take the truck to the carwash to vacuum it.  Cloz’r left quite a bit of hair in it yesterday!  I’ve got some bbq chicken in the crock pot for dinner and I’m going to whip up a pasta salad in a little bit.  This afternoon, my mom is going to come over after work and we’re going to Greenville.  She’s going to keep Lauryn occupied while I have an eye appointment.  It’s time for a new prescription and new glasses.  Then we’re doing a little shopping before coming home to have dinner.
