Sunday Stealing
The Just Because Meme
Welcome back to Sunday Stealing. Sunday Stealing originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent memes. You may have heard of the expression, “honor amongst thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we also have our rules. First, we always credit the blog that we stole it from and we will “fess up” to the blog owner where we stole the meme. We also provide a link to the victim’s post. (It’s our way of saying “Thanks!”) We do sometimes edit the original meme, usually to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, sometimes to select that meme’s best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from either this new meme or recently asked questions from a prior featured meme. Let’s go!
Today we ripped this meme of a blogger known as Demonaduerre from the blog Because I Still Love You. He does not remember where he grabbed it. But it was probably stolen there as well. So, of course, that will be as far as we go. Tracing back our theft’s thieves might take some time. Link back to us at Sunday Stealing!
Cheers to all of us thieves!

Clean Flowerbeds and a Clean Dog
So far, this morning has been pretty productive. I took Lauryn and Cloz’r outside with me to weed the flowerbeds. This was actually a bigger task than I thought it was going to be because neither of them wanted to stay near me or in my sight. I gave up after about 45 minutes of wrangling them and not getting much work done. It wasn’t long after that though, that Lauryn was ready for her nap so I got her down, took the monitor out and Cloz’r and I went back out and got the job done. I swept up the mess and then grabbed a book and some ice tea and sat in the sun for a few minutes. When we came back in, I decided to give Cloz’r her long overdue bath. She’s due for a flea treatment anyway and with Lauryn napping, I figured it a good time to do it. Another not so easy task! I did discover one good thing during the process though. When we moved into this house, I didn’t like that the shower had doors on it and since the tiles were put in around the doors, we didn’t do anything about it. Those doors sure come in handy when Cloz’r decides to shake the water off! I saved myself a good amount of cleaning the bathroom time by shutting the doors when she started to shake
I still have a few things to do in the house. I haven’t made the bed yet, there’s two loads of laundry, sweeping and vacuuming and a few dishes. At least I got a good start
I recently read some cissus quadrangularis reviews and was quite surprised to learn that cissus quadrangularis can strengthen bones and help heal fractures. I found that pretty interesting. I had heard about it and had no clue what it was so I checked it out. I read that a lot of athletes use it to assist in keeping their bones healthy. Just thought I’d share because I found it interesting
Weekend In Review
Check out this wonderful meme at:
Friday~Mom came over after work and we went to a barn sale. I found a couple very cute outfits for Lauryn, an adorable little teacup and saucer knick knack for her room and a pair of brand new Dockers for Lloyd. They still had the tags on them and they were $48 and I picked them up for $4
Gotta love a good deal! Mom stayed for dinner and we had tacos and guacamole…YUM!
Saturday~Lloyd made us a very yummy breakfast and then he and Lauryn hung out at home so I could do a little shopping. I ended up getting two pair of capri pants, a pair of shorts, two shirts and a bra. I also picked up some plant food, an outdoor chair for Lauryn and four bags of sand for Lloyd so he could fill in his horseshoe pits. We had ham steak, potatoes and corn on the cob, all on the grill that night. I just love grilling weather!!! Later, we did a little cleaning and I prepared some food for Sunday because we were having friends over for dinner
Lloyd and I drank coffee way too late and neither of us could sleep. Finally, around 3 am, I started to doze off. Lauryn woke up around 3:30 am because her teeth were bothering her. She and I ended up staying up until 6 am
Sunday~Woke up just after 10 am, which would normally be very late but given the night Lauryn and I had, it wasn’t nearly enough sleep. I was in a great mood though because I was excited for our friends to come over. I finished getting the last of the food ready, cleaned up the kitchen and the bathroom, swept, mopped and got me and Lauryn ready. Our friends called and said they were going to be a little late, which worked out because then we got Lauryn down for a nap and Lloyd and I went out and played a little ladder ball. When they got here, we visited for a little while and drank watermelon martini’s
They were pretty good! The kids played and we got the grill going. We had burgers, hot dogs, cheddar wurst, loaded baked potato salad, cheese, pickle wraps, onion wraps, veggies and dip and that strawberry dessert I posted a couple of weeks ago. After they left, I gave Lauryn a bath, got her ready for bed and Lloyd and I vegged out on the couch for a few. Neither one of us had much energy and we both ended up going to bed pretty early. It was a great weekend!
Friday Fill-Ins
And…here we go!
1. Lauryn never fails to make me smile.
2. I’m looking forward to having friends over for dinner on Sunday.
3. Lauryn talking to her bear is what I’m listening to right now.
4. Potato salad must have bacon in it!
5. My homemade strawberry jam on toast was the best thing I ate today.
6. Today was rainy.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to dinner and a visit with my mom, tomorrow my plans include shopping and Sunday, I want to enjoy the day with good food and friends!
Weekend In Review
This is a wonderful new meme created by Jodi at:
Friday ~ Lauryn ended up having her check-up on Friday instead of Wednesday. She only had to get one shot and she even said a tearful thank you (tak-en) when it was over. Her doctor said she’s growing very well, that her height and her weight are right where they should be and that she already has the vocabulary of a two year old!!! That made her Mama very proud
We also went to the ballpark down the road to watch my nephew play baseball. Just as we got there, he hit an in-field home run! We only stayed for about an hour because the wind was really chilly and Lauryn’s hands were getting cold.
Saturday ~ On Saturday, Lloyd got soil for the garden and got that all down. I planted my flowers alongside the house, got the parsnip seeds and the melon, pickle and herb plants all in the garden. Lloyd replaced our crummy back door with a nice screen one and we played outside with Lauryn. We also did one of my favorite things for dinner…had everything on the grill
Corn on the cob, potatoes, chicken breast for me and cheddarwurst for Lloyd. I love it when there aren’t any pots and pans to clean
Sunday ~ Sunday started out not so great. When I was preparing the potatoes for breakfast, I cut a pretty big chunk out of my thumb while using my mandolin slicer. Totally my fault for not using the guard
Lloyd said he was pretty surprised by my reaction. He was on the porch and I calmly called out, “Hey babe….I cut my finger really bad.” He came in to help, saw the damage and couldn’t believe I’d been so calm. It was a little later that I felt a little shaken by it. He was so sweet all day! Not only did he cook breakfast, he helped me take care of my cut all day, he wouldn’t let me do the dishes – even though I told him I had gloves I could use, he ran to the store for me and helped with the laundry! Such a sweet, sweet man. Other than that, it was a pretty uneventful day. For dinner we had hamburgers on the grill, chili cheese fries and veggies with dip.
It was so nice to have a weekend with just the three of us. I treasure those days because that doesn’t happen too often and I love it!
Shots Again???
Later today, Lauryn has her 18 month check up and unfortunately, this is another one with shots. My poor girl! I feel bad for her already! I think these are the last ones for a while though, which will be great! I am excited to see how much she’s grown since the last appointment and to tell the doctor all of the new things she’s been learning. She’s used her potty three times now and each time it’s been her idea. She’s also learning to count
I’m so proud of her!
And now for a random ramble
I recently received an e-mail about something called thermogenic fat burners. I have never heard of it before so I checked it out. First off, how do these people know I am trying to lose weight?
And second, if they ever read my blog they would know I am not interested in taking pills.
Okay, I couldn’t help myself there. Seriously, if these things work for other people, more power to them but they just aren’t for me.
Dieting
Today I went shopping for new bras and capri pants. Talk about getting totally bummed out! I’ve never been real big on shopping, I usually go in, get what I need and get out but today was a real downer. The only capris I found in my size looked like old lady pants and the cute ones didn’t even come close to what I need. Then when I tried on a few different bras, I was pretty shocked that those weren’t close either! I think today was just what I needed to get my motivation back with losing weight! I still want to do it in the healthiest way possible. No diet pills for a couple of reasons. One, I just don’t like taking pills and will avoid doing so unless I absolutely have to and two, diet pill side effects are scary! Anyway, I think my biggest problem is not being as active as I used to be. That’s what needs to change and I know Lauryn will love getting out and doing more too!
Cold + Rainy = Yuck!
So, I’m all for April showers but we’re into May now and this cold and rainy stuff has got to go! All of the stuff I bought for my garden still hasn’t been planted
Either it’s been rainy or there’s a chance of frost. Luckily, I’ve managed to keep everything alive and thriving on my back porch and when it’s sunny enough, I put it all outside.
My mom, Lauryn and I went shopping today. I didn’t end up finding the main things I went for but I did get a few other things I’ve been needing/wanting. I also looked a little at acne treatments. I don’t know if the couple of pimples I’ve been getting are something that needs major treatment or just a better cleanser but I’m really getting tired of them!
