Yes, Another Post About Pimples :)
So here I am, 29 years old, and I wake up this morning with two very noticeable pimples on my face! What gives! I swear I didn’t have issues with them when I was a teenager and supposed to be dealing with them, so why are they coming now? Hopefully eating better, drinking more water and some good old fashioned acne face wash will take care of this! It’s driving me crazy!
Busy, Busy
Today I have a lot to do around the house. So far on my list is: wash bedding, clean bathroom, dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, make deviled eggs, sweep patio, make strawberry dessert and figure out what to make as a side dish to go with our burgers tonight. Since I went ahead and got groceries last night, that’s one less thing I have to do today
So I fell off the “diet wagon” recently and now that the weather is getting nicer, I’m trying to get back on! I’m cutting down on portions, drinking less coffee (because I use tons of creamer), drinking more water and green tea, going on more walks and getting into the yard work. My goal is to lose 20 lbs. but I’m not giving myself a deadline. I hate the dreaded deadline so I’m just going to go with the flow and stay on track. I want to cut back on red meat, eat more salads – I love them so why not? – and get healthier for me and my little girl! No thinking about “dieting” and things like clinicallix, it’s just me, getting in better shape so I can be happier with how I look
Yesterday
Yesterday was nice
Lauryn and I spent a couple of hours visiting with my mother-in-law, she gave me some strawberry plants, Lloyd brought home Subway since I couldn’t figure out what to make for dinner, I got a ton of groceries and we got the strawberries planted
So this Saturday is when the no smoking ban happens. Personally, it doesn’t affect me either way. I know some people who are excited about it and I know some people who are super mad! I saw an ad for those electronic cigarettes, which I personally don’t quite understand, and I wondered if those are banned too? I don’t know much about them other than I’ve read a lot of comments that they have helped people quit real cigarettes but it also seems like just a different habit to pick up. Oh well…
Friday Fill-Ins
1. I was up way too late last night.
2. I had a phone call and I left my book where Lauryn could get it.
3. Why people think they know more about my child than I do?
4. Baby jogger city select was in my thoughts today.
5. One of my father’s favorite sayings was don’t know, he’s not around.
6. Being totally embarrassed–I know that feeling!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to dinner with mom, Lloyd and Lauryn, tomorrow my plans include cleaning up the back yard and Sunday, I want to work on the garden and spend the day with Lloyd and Lauryn!
Passed Inspections
Yesterday we had inspections on the rental Lloyd has been working so hard on and everything passed with flying colors! I know the renter has been excited to move in so hopefully she’ll be able to soon and we can move on
It will be so great having Lloyd home more! At first he was just going on the weekends to do some work but in the last few weeks he was there almost every day after work too. Lauryn and I were missing him! Maybe I should get to planning that vacation I keep talking about. Florida sounds nice, or a Branson vacation, or maybe the Bahamas….a girl can dream, right
Laundry…It Never Ends
I feel like I can’t get caught up on the laundry! Since I was feeling so crummy, I took a break from it and just kept up on the other housework and now I’m regretting it. It looks like a small mountain piled up in my bedroom. Tomorrow, I will conquer it!
I so wish our washer and dryer weren’t in the basement though!
Seems like those ads for all of the lawyer services are everywhere these days! You see them for babies born with birth defects, asbestos mesothelioma, complications from birth control….it’s just crazy! I feel very blessed that my family doesn’t have to worry about those issues and that we are relatively healthy (besides the colds we have
).
She Did It!
I know I’ve mentioned before that we were going to go ahead and get Lauryn her own potty so she could at least get used to the idea of it. Well, I’ve been taking her in to the bathroom with me, having her sit on it and telling her about it. She’s been doing fine with all of that but she hadn’t actually gone potty….until yesterday morning
We were all sitting on the couch watching the news and I asked her if she would sit with Dada for a minute so Mama could go potty. She got all excited and said, “Potty, potty!” and ran to the bathroom door. So I took her in there with me and got her all set on it and sure enough, she went potty! I was floored! The funniest things was that when there’s “potty” happening, the little toilet sings a song. She was dancing to the music while she was going! Too funny! I know we’re just at the beginning of potty training but it sure made for an exciting morning! I know, I am so a mommy…using the potty makes for an exciting morning
I recently saw an ad for this credit card machine where you can get them and use them anywhere. I’m sure these have been around for a while, besides in stores and restaurants, etc., but when I saw the ad I thought how funny it would be to have one and use it at home. For instance, when we have a garage sale, I could tell people we accept Visa and Mastercard
Silly, I know. It’s just what came to mind when I saw the credit card processing ad.

1) How often do you whisper? I’d have to say daily. Either because Lauryn is napping or sometimes I whisper to her to get her to tell her daddy things
2) When was the last time you called a help hotline? Did it solve the problem? It was just the other day. I had a few questions about insurance marketing. My questions were solved
3) How much time do you spend on yourself daily on average? That depends on what I’m doing that day. If it’s laundry, cleaning, etc., then I don’t spend a whole lot of time but if I’m going out I like to have my hair done and make up on and that takes about a half hour or so.
4) Show and Tell. What comes to mind first when you see this picture? Or, tell a story if it reminds you of one.

This reminds me of the many, many times my step sister and I would walk the railroad tracks through town when we were growing up. Lot of fun memories
It’s Raining, It’s Pouring
I love the rain! I love big, loud thunderstorms and I love how the air smells after it has rained! Whenever there’s a storm coming, my mom talks about joint pain and feeling it in her bones. I wonder how that works. How does an oncoming storm make your body feel different? Hmm, I may have to do some research
I hope the rain isn’t preventing Lloyd from being able to finish what he needs to on the rental.
I think (and hope) that today will be a lazy day! I’m still getting over this stupid cold and I’m tired from coughing all night and achy from working at the other house yesterday. I would love to just chill with Lauryn, and Lloyd when he gets home, have a nice dinner and enjoy my family.
The Rental
So recently, Lloyd and I purchased another rental in G.R. Lloyd has been spending tons of time working on it to get it ready for inspections and for the renter. There hasn’t been a whole lot I can do because it’s been a disaster down there for a while and it wasn’t some place I could take Lauryn. Yesterday, my mom stayed with Lauryn so I could go help out. It was amazing to see how much Lloyd and his friends and family have gotten done in the past few weeks! It looks like a totally different house. I feel like I didn’t really do all that much, just some cleaning, but it was nice to finally get down there and help out a little. He’s down there again today, finishing things up and hopefully the inspections will pass without any hitches! I’m still learning a lot about all of this rental stuff and I wonder what all they have to inspect. Like, is there energy auditing or is it just about the house and the pipes and paint? I have a lot to learn!
