Happy Anniversary Lloyd!!!!

Today marks five years that Lloyd and I have been married!  Marrying him was the smartest thing I’ve ever done.  I love you Lloyd, you are a wonderful husband, an amazing father and I know that I will be happy for the rest of my life because I have you!

Thursday Thunks

The Halloweeney Version of Thursday Thunks
Welcome to the October almost Halloweenth version of Thursday Thunks!
(which we always seem to post on Wednesday)
Where we make you think a little bit before you blog!

We pick a subject, and your job is to interpret it anyway you want. Write about it on your blog… simple as that. Maybe you can interpret it as a picture – we don’t care!
Please only leave a link if you have written a Thursday Thunks post. Please mention us in your post, and link back to the blog here.
Don’t forget to go visit the other participants’ blogs. Read and comment about all their Thursday Thunks! Thats what all this is about afterall, isn’t it? We’ll have so much fun and become lifelong friends….

This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by Berleen, the color Blood red and the number 31.

1. So Halloween is this weekend, if you haven’t heard. Are you gonna open your doors up or not?  Yes.
2. You better open ‘em cuz I’m coming… what are you putting in my treat bag?  We’ve got Skittles, gummie Starburst, Baby Ruths and Nestle Crunch bars.
3. Since October is the bestest month for television (well for cable & dish subscribers it is) and there is a horror movie on at any given time of the day – are you sick of them yet?  I haven’t really watched any.
4. Which one of those movies can you watch over & over again?  Since I didn’t name any, I can’t pick one of those.
5. Tell us about a Halloween scare you’ve had….  No scary Halloween stories.
6. Did you watch the old Casper cartoons when you were a youngin? Well, back then they weren’t old I suppose, but I’m sure you still understand my question.  No, I’ve seen the movie with Christina Ricci though.
7. Have you ever found a four-leaf clover? Yes.  Did it make me any luckier? No.
8. Haunted Houses… you know, the kinds you pay to get in and they chase you with chainsaws and severed heads…. do you like ‘em?  I don’t mind them.
9. Do you use cute cartoon type wrapping paper for Christmas presents or the not cutesy paper? Or are you one of those gift card and/or gift bag people?  Depends on who I’m giving a gift to and what the gift is.
10. How long do boiled eggs need to stay in the boiling water before they become hard boiled eggs?  I turn the heat off and cover them as soon as they come to a boil.  Then let them sit about 10 minutes.  Where the heck did #9 and #10 come from?  Do people boil eggs for Halloween??
11. Jason is coming in through your front door… Freddy is coming through your back door… zombies are at every window of the house and Norman Bates is calling to invite you to dinner… what do you do?  Do what all the girls do, run upstairs and trap myself until I’m brutally killed :)
12. Did you know that the scariest part of Halloween is giving all of your Reeses Peanut Butter Cups away? That’s probably scary for Lloyd, he loves them.
13a. If you were to play a part of a haunted house (not the ghosts in the attic kind), what would you want to be?  I have no idea.  I’m not that scary.
13b. Have you ever played a part in a haunted house?  No.
14. If Thursday Thunks had a Halloween party, what do you think Kimber & Berleen would come dressed as?  Itchy and Scratchy???
15. Do you cook a turkey for Thanksgiving?  No I don’t.
16. Have you ever read a book that scared the pants off of you?  I’ve read some freaky things but my pants seem to stay on.
17. Whats the predicted high temperature for today?  I think it was in the 50’s.
18. Have you ever howled at the moon?  Probably not.
19.You are in an alley and a werewolf and a vampire are coming at you – one of them has to win. Which one do you want to bite you?  Neither, I’m not in to biting :)

Pictures? She Thinks Not!

Today Lauryn and I went to visit Lloyd’s mom for a little while and then we were all going to go to get her one year pictures taken.  Lloyd’s mom offered to have them done for us and I thought that was really sweet of her.  Lauryn was not up for it though.  We tried and tried and tried to get her to smile and all she wanted to do was put her finger in her nose :)   After she very dramatically threw her head back and squished up her face, I knew it wasn’t going to happen.  The photographer gave us a few minutes to try to get her in a better mood but I know my little girl and she wasn’t going to have it.  We’re going to try again another day.

I can’t believe on Monday my precious baby is going to be a year old!  We’re having her party on Sunday and I’m excited for it and I can’t wait to get it over with.  We tried to keep it small and still ended up with 22 people on the guest list.  I have no idea how we’re going to fit that many people into our house!  Tomorrow my mom and I are going shopping for her gifts and to get all the food I’ll need to prepare.  I’m making Lauryn’s cake and we’re buying a bakery cake for everyone else.  I’ve made a couple of practice cakes to try my hand at cake decorating and they’ve turned out pretty cute.  Lloyd doesn’t mind one bit because he gets to eat them when I’m done :)

This is going to be one busy, busy week.  Shopping tomorrow, lots of cleaning to get ready for the party on Thursday, Friday is our 5th anniversary, Halloween on Saturday and Lauryn’s party on Sunday.  Busy, busy!

Speaking of Halloween…I had already picked up a costume for Lauryn.  She’s not going trick-or-treating but she’s going to help pass out candy so she’s has to dress up for it :)   Anyway, I had a cute little pumpkin outfit picked out because when I went back for the ladybug one, they were all sold out.  Well today I found an even cuter one, an adorable lamb, so I’m returning the pumpkin one tomorrow.  She’s going to be the cutest lamb ever!  I will definitely post pics!!!

Lauryn’s Pumpkin

Last week, Lauryn and I carved her very first pumpkin….okay, so I carved it but she picked out the design she wanted on it :)   She pointed to the cat and said, “Kee!”  Too cute!

Photobucket

When we were done, I dried the pumpkin seeds overnight and then baked them the next day.  I don’t care for them but Lloyd loves them.  I baked some with seasoning salt and some with seasoning salt and cayenne pepper.  I tried one of each to make sure they turned out and they were pretty good.  Lloyd really likes them :)

Sunday Stealing

The Halloween Meme

Welcome back to Sunday Stealing. Sunday Stealing originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent memes. You may have heard of the expression, “honor amongst thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we also have our rules. First, we always credit the blog that we stole it from and we will “fess up” to the blog owner where we stole the meme. We also provide a link to the victim’s post. (It’s our way of saying “Thanks!”) We do sometimes edit the original meme, usually to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, sometimes to select that meme’s best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from either this new meme or recently asked questions from a prior featured meme. Let’s go!

Today we ripped this meme off a blogger named Apryl from the blog Meridian Ariel. Apryl explains that the questions were compiled by her from a few different memes floating about. So she stole it from lots of people. But, it was probably stolen there as well. So, of course, that will be as far as we go. Tracing back our theft’s thieves might take some time. Link back to us at Sunday Stealing!

Cheers to all us thieves!

Thursday Thunks

Memes, And Endorsements, And Zombies- Oh My!

Welcome to the October 22nd version of Thursday Thunks!

(which we always seem to post on Wednesday)

Where we make you think a little bit before you blog!

This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by
Kimber, the number 70, and the color mellow.

1. If you were to start a meme (or a second or third), what would you call it and what day would you pick?  Tuesday, I can never find one that I like on Tuesdays.

2. When a celebrity endorses a product, do you really believe they like it/use it?  Who knows.
3. Why don’t zombies ever just eat each other?  Don’t they want the flesh of the living?
4. If you were an elephant, would you rather roam free or be in a zoo?  Roam free.
5. The doorbell rings on October 31st, do you answer it?  Yeah, it’s probably trick or treaters.
6. If you see a piece of paper on the ground while out & about, do you pick it up? If so, do you look to see what it is?  I might pick it up to throw it away.  I’d look to see if it was important.
7. If Jon Gosselin and Octomom got married and then their own reality show, do you think she would try to get pregnant again for better ratings?  Who cares?
8. If Thursday Thunks was to be put on hold or quit completely, would you be sad?  I wouldn’t be sad…it would just mean I’d have to find another meme for Thursday.
