Feeling Better
Now my cold has gone from sore throat, to sinus yuckiness and now it’s become a nagging cough – which is a lot better than that sinus crap! Hopefully I will be rid of it all in a day or two! So far, we’ve managed to keep Lloyd and Lauryn from getting it *knock on wood!*
On Saturday, one of Lauryn’s top front teeth finally broke through! YAY!!! And you can see the other one just under the surface. For the past few days I’ve had my sweet little girl back! Seems like once they break through, they don’t bother her quite as much so she’s not so fussy. I can’t wait to see her with her two top teeth to go along with her two bottom ones. That’s going to be adorable!
I can’t believe it’s only going to be in the 50’s today! Last year, when we were bringing Lauryn home from the hospital (beginning of November) we had 70 degree weather. I’m thinking it’s not going to happen this year. I can’t believe that my garden is still going! Sunday I picked about 15-20 tomatoes and saw that I have six green peppers that will be ready soon. Hopefully they make it!
I’m thinking about making meatloaf and linguine oil and garlic tonight. I’m not sure about the veggie yet. I still have to run to the store.
Curious as a Cat
1) Do you wear fur? Leather?
I don’t wear fur, unless you count the numerous hairs I pick off myself when Cloz’r is shedding
and I think I do have some boots/shoes that are leather.
2) What are your favorite museums, galleries, or theaters in your area?
I love the Van Andel museum and the Frederick Meijer Gardens.
3) Do you think it’s important to keep traditions?
Definitely…even when they are traditions that scare the crap out of me – like my in-laws tradition of the bride dancing on the bar at Shiel’s Tavern (I’m extremely afraid of heights!) on the way to the reception.

4) Show and Tell. What comes to mind first when you see this picture? Or, tell a story if it reminds you of one. This reminds me of hearing the Star Spangled Banner during sporting events and then seeing the planes fly over.

Sunday Stealing
A Fall Meme
Welcome back to Sunday Stealing. Sunday Stealing originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent memes. You may have heard of the expression, “honor amongst thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we also have our rules. First, we always credit the blog that we stole it from and we will “fess up” to the blog owner where we stole the meme. We also provide a link to the victim’s post. (It’s our way of saying “Thanks!”) We do sometimes edit the original meme, usually to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, sometimes to select that meme’s best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from either this new meme or recently asked questions from a prior featured meme. Let’s go!
Today we ripped this meme off a blogger called Bikramyogachick from the blog 60 Day Bikram Yoga Challenge. She explains that this meme was written by the Restaurant Refugee. Hannah posted it on her blog, which is where she discovered it. So we have another relatively “virgin” meme. So we have no need to even explain that we don’t trace back origins of a meme! Link back to us at Sunday Stealing!
Sunday Stealing: A Fall Meme
It’s not really fall in until…the leaves change to bright, pretty colors.
What did you need to do in the waning days of summer for it to feel complete? Get togethers with friends and family.
A person I know was wrong for me but about whom I frequently thought after a break-up was…Why think about someone who was wrong for me?
If you could only attend one major sporting event what would it be? I’m not much of a sports fan but I guess going to another Tigers game would be fun.
Assuming that you write an anonymous or partially anonymous blog, by what non-physically identifying characteristics might you be identified in a bar? What?
Most blogs cover some sort of niche – personal, political, dating, culinary, etc. What topic, if any, would you like to address on your blog but doesn’t fit into your niche? I don’t address any topics that wouldn’t fit into my niche.
If you could manipulate the time space continuum and give as many as three pieces of advice to a younger version of yourself, what advice would you give and to what age of you? Hmm…at any age I would remind myself to be always be kind to others and to be patient because things will always work out for the best in the end.
Who among your friends do you really wish had a blog because their stories, or perspective on something ought to be shared? Kathye..she has the best stories.
If you were to take an e-cation (vacation from the trappings of our electronic world,) and assuming that employment obligations would allow it, how long of a break could you take? What would you miss the most, the least? I would take as long as Lloyd’s job would allow and I would miss checking in with the MMC.
On September 11th of this year, I attended a couple of parties and was somewhat conflicted by the fact that this ignoble anniversary shall pass with it being just another day in the eyes of many (and in some ways my own eyes as well.) Thoughts? It was a heartbreaking day but we all need to move on.
How high are your walls? Who was the last person to scale them? What tools should would-be climbers have on their belt? My walls? No one has scaled them. If this is about me personally, I am only 5′2″ so I’m sure no one would need any special tools to climb over me.
The sexiest thing a man or a woman can say to you (or has said to you) is:
“Honey, I’ll do the dishes.”

Saturday 9
I Call Your Name
Welcome to Saturday: 9 . What we’ve committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do “random questions,” so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don’t have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today’s meme!
1. If you could have named yourself, which name would you have chosen, and why? I never liked Carielle when I was growing up, probably because people were always mispronouncing it. I liked that my friends and family called me Cari. I’m over it now and I wouldn’t want to change it.
2. If you could relive a year in your life, what age would it be, and why?
No take backs!
3. If you could go back and change one friendship in your past, who would it have been, and why? See #2
4. If you could have dated one person in your past that you did not date, who would it be, and why? Why are these all about the past?
6. If you had the opportunity to live in another country, which one would it be, and why? If you choose NOT to live in another country, why do you want to stay in your current country? I’m pretty happy living here.
7. If you could choose your dream job, what would it be, and why? I have my dream job…I get to stay home with my baby and that’s better than any job I’ve ever done!
8. If you could wish a wish and it be guaranteed to come true (other than riches) what would it be, and why? I would wish that Lauryn never had to feel heartache…of any kind.
9. If you could meet two blogger friends (you may choose more, if you wish) who would they be? Thom and Stacie.
It Got Worse :P
Well, my sore throat is gone…YAY…but now it’s a whole yucky sinus thing…BOO! The worst part of it all is that I can’t kiss my sweet little girl because I’m afraid of passing it on to her. I catch myself almost giving her kisses and then I realize I can’t.
I think when she takes her nap, Mommy is going to take one too! Luckily it’s the weekend so Lloyd can help me take care of her while I try to kick this cold!
Friday Fill-Ins

And…here we go!
1. One week ago was Friday the 18th.
2. I sometimes miss the time when I was young.
3. Mama told me don’t ever let a man treat you badly and don’t sweat the small stuff.
4. It’s all about you and me.
5. Take your time and do it right.
6. This sore throat I have will pass!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to crock pot lasagna with mom and Lloyd, tomorrow my plans include not sure yet and Sunday, I want to same as always, relax and spend time with my family!
Thursday Thunks

Lather Up, Laugh It Up, And Have A Colorful Day!
1. Does soap or shampoo have to really lather up for you to feel that it cleaned throughly? Yes.

10. Come up with a crazy, wacky Thursday Thunk question. Hmmm….Do you get lint in your belly button? Lame, I know, it was all I could think of.
I Love Rainy Days
It’s looking pretty dreary out there today. I don’t mind it one bit
It feels like a great day to stay in, play with my girl and work on the blanket I’m making for her. It’s getting pretty big now and I just love the colors.
Lauryn is getting a new tooth! It’s one of her top front teeth. A few days ago, you could barely see it, now you can see that it’s going to break through any time. She’s been a little fussy but not too bad.
Yesterday mom and I went shopping after she got out of work. I was very happy because I found more of these kids wall decorations to put up in Lauryn’s room. They are pretty cute. They’re kind of like wallpaper pictures but they are incredibly easy to remove and re-stick anywhere. I also found some cute trays and serving bowls and since they were on clearance because they were in the summer stuff, I paid .10 for one and .15 a piece for the other two…can’t beat that!
I have no clue what to make for dinner tonight. Lloyd won’t be home until 7 pm so I whatever I end up making will be quick and easy.
The cat is laying in the chair next to me and she’s snoring
Chicken Skillet
I made this the other day and it turned out really good. It’s another yummy recipe from the Food & Family magazine. You can find the Kraft link on my sidebar
Stove Top One Dish Chicken Skillet:
1 1/2c. hot water
1/4 c. (1/2 stick) butter or margarine, melted
1 pkg. Stove Top for Chicken
6 small boneless skinless chicken breast halves
1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1/3 c. sour cream
Mix hot water, butter and stuffing mix.
Cook chicken in nonstick skillet on medium high heat for 5 minutes on each side or until browned on both sides.
Mix soup and sour cream; pour over chicken. Top with stuffing; cover. Cook on low heat 10 minutes or until chicken is done (165 degrees).
