Play Date :)
Today, Lauryn and I met up with a few of the Michigan Moms for a play date. It was at a really nice park in Grand Rapids. We got there a little late because I couldn’t find it at first. A Garmin GPS would have been handy today
Once we got there, we ate lunch and then Lauryn played. I have such a hard time just watching her go off and run around with the other kids. Not because I don’t trust the kids, it’s that she’s a little daredevil and I am afraid if I’m not right there, she’s going to get hurt. I tried to give her a little space but it didn’t last long
Here are a few pictures from today:

Slipper Socks
I have a ton of scrap yarn and have been meaning to get it used up. I used to think about making a big granny square blanket with it. I really like making granny squares but honestly, I have zero desire to put them all together
So, I started making slipper socks. This was my first pair:
They are really warm and comfy! I’m almost finished with a pair for Lloyd and my mom has some yarn she wants me to use to make her some. They are really nice to do because they work up so fast and it’s great using up all of that scrap yarn
Lauryn’s Pumpkin
Last week, Lauryn and I carved her very first pumpkin….okay, so I carved it but she picked out the design she wanted on it
She pointed to the cat and said, “Kee!” Too cute!
When we were done, I dried the pumpkin seeds overnight and then baked them the next day. I don’t care for them but Lloyd loves them. I baked some with seasoning salt and some with seasoning salt and cayenne pepper. I tried one of each to make sure they turned out and they were pretty good. Lloyd really likes them
Too Cute
This weekend Lauryn tried some new food. She was making the funniest faces so I thought I’d share them. I’m also adding one of her and the mallet toy she won at the fair. I think in the first pic she was deciding she couldn’t trust mama anymore
At this point, she was sticking her fingers in her mouth, checking out the textures I think and making a mess
What A Nice Day!
It’s Friday and Lloyd is actually home!!! That never happens and it’s so nice!
We had to run to the store this morning and we hit a couple of yard sales on the way home. We got a few odds and ends but at the very first sale we went to, we found an adorable little wooden rocking horse that’s in really good condition for only $2!! I can’t wait until Lauryn is a little bit bigger…she’s going to looks so cute on it and I bet she’ll love it!
Mom is coming over tonight and she’s bringing dinner with her. She said since we always make dinner on Friday nights for her, she wants to make it for us. She’s doing chicken breasts and corn on the cob on the grill and she made my grandma’s macaroni salad — Lloyd’s favorite! I’m looking forward to someone cooking dinner for me
Here’s a very recent picture of Lauryn, showing of her two new teeth
I had to leave it a little bit bigger because when it’s smaller you can’t see her teeth very well
